Excellent location with mountain & sea-view, extremely helpful and very friendly staff. Excellent food quality in rather large quantities (also in half board, worthwhile though !) at a very romantic place. Excellent facilities, except for internet. (one PC)
Difficult to reach; only taxi from railway station (6 miles, 18 Euros) or sometimes free shuttle from the hotel, at limited times. (Not during lunch or dinnertime, as whole staff (hotelfamily) is serving and working for the guests) Responsiveness from staff during could be improved, as it took a rather long time after the main course before someone showed up for dessert and/or coffee afterwards.

This is the hotel we will definitely go back to and the place we are recommending to all our friends. The staff was extremelly professional and kind. The hotel's restaurant was among the best I've ever been to, with fresh produce from their own garden and obviously freshly prepared food. We received free upgrade to a superior room, with amazing panoramic views of the Mediterranean. La Riserva is the perfect place for relax, kicking off the shoes and enjoying great views, fantastic food and superb vine.

Quiet, rustic charm. Old fashioned service from charming staff. Beautiful location with wonderful views down the coast to Monaco. I checked in late and left early but I would definitely like to spend more time there. Highly recommended.

Peaceful and beautiful position with panoramic view along the coast. Comfortable suite with all necessary fittings, very clean. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast included in room price. Dinner and wines very expensive we ate cheaper and more tasteful lunches/dinners in the towns of Sanremo, Bordighera and Ventimiglia. Generally very satisfied with our stay, only the narrow, winding road leading up to the hotel is not for the faint-hearted!

The hotel is situated on top of a hill accessible through a narrow road, providing breathtaking views of the coast. The rooms are well-furnished with comfortable beds and modern bathrooms, and the staff is polite and helpful. The homemade Italian meals are delicious, and the breakfast served on the lovely terrace is not to be missed. The hotel has a traditional Italian feel and a beautiful garden with armchairs for a relaxing stay.
Some parts of the hotel are slightly dated and tired-looking.

Amazing sea views. Older classical hotel with lots of charm and character. Family run and made to feel very welcome . All staff were very friendly and helpful. We took the 2 bedr apartment because we had our 2 kids with us. Perfect family hotel, nice pool and slide. We loved the breakfasts with the views and the dinners were great also.

The view from our room was amazing, with a balcony perfect for morning yoga. The pool area was child-friendly and open all day. The restaurant served delicious food, especially the fish dishes. The manager went above and beyond, even giving us a ride to the train station when needed.
Can honestly say there wasn't anything not to like.

Charming old hotel with good services and friendly traditional Italian staff. Excellent restaurant with lovely ambiance.
Two km of narrow winding road up the hill to get there.

This hotel is nestled in the hills above Ventimiglia, offering the most astonishing view of the coast. The location is truly breathtaking, and the access road, although narrow and winding, adds to its charm. The rooms are kept very clean, and I was impressed by the attention to detail, from the large jacuzzi tub in the bathroom to the simple glass windows that allow you to fully enjoy the view. The breakfast served in the morning was delightful, with a wide selection of food, all enjoyed with the most astonishing view.

Antonello the manager could not do enough for us and made our stay that much better. Ran us to the station and arranged for scooter hire. Also delivered our passports back to us when we departed leaving them in the safe!
A little tired

The staff were very friendly, even re-opened the kitchen especially when we arrived late, the view from the rooms was stunning and the food was outstanding.
The road up to the hotel is a bit hairy at times as the locals assume no-one is coming the other way.
